You might need to hear this 👇
Are you comparing yourself to other coaches? Then we would encourage you to do it healthily and flexibly in a way that honours you.
Comparing ourselves to others who we see on social media happens to a lot of us. We follow great coaches who inspire us but at the same time we then start doubting ourselves and asking questions…
“Could I do that? Can I post that often? Do I have that much to say? What should I say? Do I need to do a Live? What even is a Live? These coaches are much more experienced than me!”
We know that comparing ourselves to others isn’t always the best thing to do. So here’s a few ideas to help you recognise and focus on your uniqueness and how this will help YOU:
✨Notice that you are doing this. A lot of the times you might be scrolling on instagram or LinkedIn and not even realise that you are subconsciously comparing yourself to others. Be more active in noticing how you are feeling and bring that to the surface. Some call this noticing your inner critic voice. You might even name that voice if it helps you to be more mindful.
✨Act with self-compassion. Be your own best friend and when you notice that you’re making comparisons don’t judge yourself harshly. It’s okay to do so! Comparing is natural so don’t put yourself down. Instead acknowledge that you’ve spotted this and that you have a choice.
✨Focus on where you are now and what you can learn. You are not other people and your journey and where you are now is different to where someone else is. Instead, be clear on what’s important to you and why YOU coach.
We meet so many new coaches who are BRILLIANT at what they do but are held back because of these comparisons.
📣We don’t know if you need to hear that right now but if you’ve read up to this point then… trust yourself, your abilities your intuition, your skills. You are doing great at this! Post if you want, post if you don’t, but don’t let your comparisons with others take away that spark that is in you!
