Managing People Confidently
A highly participative management development programme aimed at creating confident managers and harnessing leadership potential. This workshop focuses on the skills, knowledge, behaviours and attitudes that are key for effective management. It is either delivered over 3 non-consecutive days or as 6 Webinars, typically once a month.
Who is it for?
This workshop is ideal for new line managers and senior staff members who have an interest in discovering their management style and develop their ability to prioritise, communicate effectively and engage a team.
What will I learn?
A motivating and fun approach underpins this highly interactive Management Programme, giving you the chance to assess, practice and review your strengths and development areas as a manager in a friendly and supportive environment.
Throughout the 3 days you will be immersed in realistic management activities to accelerate the reflection of own management style. This is key as by actively engaging in real life practice you will discover your own strengths and areas for development.
By attending this workshop you will:
Understand, reflect upon and assess your own management style and approach
Discover ways how to get the most from those who you manage in a team or project
Explore the essence of creating positive team working through your communication style and situational delegation as key competencies in management
Be able to carry out key management tasks including coaching, difficult conversations, prioritisation, delegation and emotional intelligence
The focus is on exploring your style as manager, what your strengths are, what values you bring in and how you want to develop as part of the programme. We also explore your communciation preferences, assertiveness, how you’re building trust and the role that emotional intelligence has in great management.
The second day focuses on typical management activities including delegation, using a coaching style and having difficult conversations. The role of the manager as key to harnessing people’s potential is explored together with an emphasis on engagement when presenting information and working with stakeholders
The final day provides learners with the tools to be able to foster High Performing Teams that are innovative and productive. The integral role of the manager in supporting continuous professional development is explored together with opportunities for reflection and reviewing what has already been embedded back in the workplace.
