live coaching in Action

live sessions with feedback & Practice

Take part on our next round of live coaching with Joseph Grech, Coaching Psychologist and PCC Accredited Coach. These sessions provide you with an invaluable opportunity to experience coaching in action. Watch Live or on Demand.

You can observe the session, discuss feedback with the coach and client, and then practice your coaching skills in a supportive environment. Our Live Coaching Demos are a great way to support your CPD and elevate your practice.

5 Live COACHING demos // Monthly // Watch Live (6.30pm-8.30pm) or on demand

The focus of the Live Coaching Demos is practice, practice, practice! We regularly hear from coaches who would like the opportunity to observe real coaching in a way that supports their development. And that’s why we created these online coaching communities.

Via the Live Coaching Demos you can experience a coach work with a different modality helping you broaden your understanding of coaching practice. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions to the coach in relation to choice points in the session or the use of any techniques engaged with.

overview of a coaching in action meetup

Part One

Welcome, Contracting & Agreements

We start the Live Demo by contracting for the time that we have together. We would typically start with a short coaching technique, ice-breaker or visualisation.

Part Two

Real Live Coaching

After contracting you get to sit in and observe a live coaching session. The session lasts around 40-45 minutes and it’s a real session! This is not role play but a session where a coach works with another person in real life.

The content of the session is not dictated and we seek volunteers who wish to be coached. Some sessions will be more lighthearted and transactional, others more transformational and leading to bigger shifts! Either way the focus is on learning and giving you an opportunity to observe real coaching.

Part Three

Discussion

After the coaching session we discuss our reflections and learning. You have the opportunity to ‘enter’ the coach’s mind to understand their rationale, choice points and decisions that they made.

The coach will also reflect upon and present any techniques used or psychological theory they were referencing in the background. As we are an ICF Coach Training provider we can also signpost you to various aspects of the session that aligned with the ICF Competencies, helping you understand the way these can be brought to life in a session. You’ll also have an opportunity to discuss how the session landed with you.

Part Four

Coaching Practice

In the final part of the session you will be divided into smaller groups where you can practice your own coaching. You can explore some of the techniques that you have just seen in the session or maybe you wish to try out something different. It’s up to you.

Doing such practice in this safe environment is a wonderful way to incorporate new skills into your practice, whilst at the same time getting invaluable feedback.

Part Five

Close

Following the practice we return to the main room and share any learning we have experienced. This allows you to open up to new coaching perspectives and identify ways you can develop your coaching practice further.

I’m Joseph, founder of Become. Thank you for taking a bit of your time to read this.

Over the last 20 years I have worked in a range of roles globally supporting people make confident and positive changes in their lives. I’m passionate about people finding their purpose – that feeling of being content, your values aligned with what you do and how you act!

Throughout my career, similar to a lot of my 1 to 1 clients, I have experienced what it means to step outside of my comfort zone and feel that nervousness and trepidation as I advanced in a number of increasingly senior roles.

I’ve learnt from it and now my expertise lies in supporting and challenging people to notice what might be getting in their way. Within this safe space my clients work towards a heightened understanding of who they are, their values and what they want to invest energy in within their life.

As an accredited PCC Coach I am experienced using a wide range of different frameworks and I believe flexibility is key to coaching. A ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach can be limiting in coaching relationships and can end up devaluing the individual for the sake of following a model.

Furthermore, as a coaching psychologist what is fundamental to my practice is a core, humanistic belief in people and I’m a firm believer of strengths-based approaches. Apart from these I also utilise acceptance-commitment and cognitive behavioural frameworks to enable long term change in individuals.
